What Does It Mean That God Is the Most High?

The Bible gives God many names, each one revealing a different facet of who He is. Today we look at the name that declares His supremacy over all.

"I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. " - Psalm 9:2

Above Every Name

The title "Most High" (El Elyon) tells us our God is not one God among many. He reigns above every power, throne, and ruler in heaven and on earth.

A Name of Comfort

Because the Most High possesses heaven and earth, nothing in your life sits higher than His care - not your anxiety, your bills, or your deepest fear.

A Name That Calls Us to Worship

To call Him "Most High" is to bow. The God who reigns above all is the same God who hears you when you pray.

A Prayer

Lord Most High, teach my heart to trust that nothing is too great for You, and nothing in my life is too small for Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.
